TAL Insurance Comparison

TAL Insurance is the same Australian company once known as Tower; the name changed after a demerger agreement was completed with Tower New Zealand. The company is one of the newer groups in the Australian insurance scene and is more strongly focused on insurance, whereas many other insurers operate as part of a larger financial services or wealth management group.

All of TAL’s major insurance products have been awarded by the main industry body, the Association of Financial Advisers. In 2012, TAL were named the 2011 Plan for Life/AFA Life Company of the Year Award for the second year running.

TAL Income Protection Insurance

TAL Income Protection Insurance is available with a range of different structures, including a unique structure whereby the cause of disability determines the waiting period and the benefit period. All options are available for direct purchasers, whereas the TAL Income Protection Insurance options through superannuation funds are limited.

TAL Trauma Insurance

Trauma insurance can be purchased as an extra benefit on your TAL Life plan, and your stand-alone policy can also have the option of TPD Insurance added. The Standard and Premier options for TAL Trauma Insurance are remarkably similar, offering excellent value even in the base level of cover.

TAL Life Insurance

TAL Life Insurance offers a flexible base from which to add options such as TPD or Trauma Insurance (although Income Protection is purchased separately under this insurer). Where many insurers provide a base product and ask you to pay extra for options, the TAL Life Insurance policy has a generous range of included benefits.
